|1648 - More baggage idiocy|
Well, they tried, and screwed it up. They gave the suitcase to the airport's contracted baggage delivery service, which called my cellphone - from a number that turned out to be a prepaid calling service that does not accept incoming calls, so I couldn't call them back. I finally got an agent at United, and they said that they'd FedEx it and it'd get here Tuesday. I told them that was unacceptable and I'd have to come get it. They're sending me two $25 travel vouchers, whee.
I wish they'd told me that at 1 PM, not 4:45, so I could get back from the Cities at a reasonable hour...
current mood: pissed off
Hello again. I'd like to thank you for your response in the UGs community. You're really quite representative of the Geek Zeitgeist, to my mind, and that's why I made that post. I'd like to add you as a friend if you don't mind. I realize that a blog can only reveal so much about a person, but I'd like to get to know you a bit better.
Live Long and Prosper
I don't mind at all. I believe the friends list is misnamed, and should instead be called "journals I like to read regularly". Go right ahead.
I do have to chuckle a little at the term "geek Zeitgeist"...to me, that seems a bit self-contradictory, as Zeitgeist is a term that I don't picture geeks using much. :-)
Grin, I'll add you. And welcome you in my journal.
As for the term "geek zeitgeist" I like it. Taken in one sense it seems to say "The Popular Spirit Of The Age Which Couldn't Include Geeks, Since They Are By Definition, Not Popular"
But taken in another sense, it could mean "The Popular Spirit Of The Age In The Subculture Of Geeks", which is how I mean it.
At any rate, pleased to make your acquaintaince.
