1824 - A little jarring

I was walking down Hollywood Boulevard this afternoon in search of dinner. (My body clock is still running on Central time.) I passed a sign for a new store that will be opening soon, supposedly: American Apparel. They showed big pictures of guys in T-shirts, labeled "Made in Los Angeles".

The picture on the front? Katz's Delicatessen. (For the uninitiated, it's in lower Manhattan.)

Are you sure there's not a Katz's Delicatessen in L.A.? I mean, there's one in Austin, and one in Houston...

Possible, although a Google search turns up only references to the one in Manhattan. The picture is definitely of that one. (I've been there. Had a truly huge pastrami sandwich. Couldn't even finish half of it.)

Yeah, I've been to the one here in Houston a few times. It's darn good and plenty. Maybe time to go revisit.

I live a block from Katz's in NYC, which is on Houston St. at Ave A. American Apparrel has a store almost next door to Katz's on Houston street. Incidentally, Katz makes a great sandwich, but beware of their grossly over-inflated prices. Fifteen f**king dollars for a roast beef on rye! Plus, the staff is completely rude, and the crowds are relentless. But, the food is great.
