|0810 - A day after Schlock Mercenary|
A total of 2003 hits, 1646 between 0734 GMT Thursday and 0744 GMT Friday. There have also been postings on several sites, most along the lines of "Jay Maynard strikes again. Didn't he learn the first time?" Yeah. I learned to ignore ignorant nay-sayers and just have fun.
I got a few emails, the most notable from SF writer Mercedes Lackey (who suggested rolling Sculpey out with a rolling pin on aluminum foil, cutting, and baking to make the medal badge). She was pleasantly surprised to find we had wendyzski as a common friend.
I'm off to a business meeting, then fly back home from Little Rock. Whee. I get a day in Fairmont before flying out to LA Sunday morning.
current mood: pleased
Mercedes Lackey will be at CONvergence this year. Any chance you'll be attending?
Funny about the sculpey--I think that was the first method you were discussing to make them. (Crayola product is lighter and drys on it's own, though.)
Glad your having a good time.
Considering how CONvergence was last time, I'd say it's about a snowball's chance in Mauna Loa.
Well, I for one, will miss you both.
Any chance you'll be attending?
There's more chance of me pledging my undying devotion to Ralph Nader and the principles (?) of government he advocates from the podium of the Republican National Convention than there is of me returning to any SF fandom event in the Twin Cities. I see no reason whatsoever to inflict them on myself, or me on them.
Scuply will hold it's color and if you're patient you can mix colors to specifics.
I sent you an email on the badges... any thoughts?
Rock on... only now I don't know what to call you!
The sculpy needed to be spraypainted a metallic color anyway.
There's metallic sculpey. I've got some.
Just had a thought-strange that's what one is like. Send me your address and I'll send a sample of the crayola putty.
I am always worried that sculpy will shatter. This stuff is like dense foam so it bounces and makes nice props.
Yeah. I learned to ignore ignorant nay-sayers and just have fun.
[insert deafening applause clip here]
Appearences by ignorant naysayers on national television = 0.
Creative type wins by default.
