1650 - A local appearance

I'm going to wear the TRON costume in public for the first time in Fairmont tomorrow morning. I've been invited to talk to the local Kiwanis club about the costume and my experiences with it.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of reaction I get. I'll have to wear street clothes over the unitard until I get there, then change into the rest of the costume. They're calling for low 20s F tomorrow morning, and that costume would be way too cold by itself.

The meeting is at 6:45 AM. Whee.

So how did it go? Did the Kiwanis club members think it was interesting, or just weird?

Just put a sock down your unitard. It will compensate for any sort of shrinkage. ;-)

What`s the big deal about Tron, anyway? What about it inspired you to start this whole pure mad rollercoaster ride of snug-fitting costumed craziness?

It's the first movie that tried to show what goes on inside a computer. Groundbreaking in a lot of ways, it got some things wrong, but a lot right - and was prophetic about some stuff that was laughable when it came out. (Programs fighting each other? Nobody would do THAT.)

I'm very much a fan of science fiction, and computing, and TRON combined both well.
