|1528 - Defense of marriage?|
One more Terri Schiavo comment...I know that folks are really getting tired of hearing it, but I couldn't resist:
Why are the same religious leaders who call for "defending marriage" against the "threat" of same-sex marriages not defending Michael Schiavo's spousal right to decide care for his wife?
current mood: curious
You mean the Religious Right entertains enough cognitive dissonance to implode a small star system?
Who would'a thunk!
Put the can opener down - leave the worms alone!
GRIN - actually, thanks for saying what I've been thinking about for some time now.
Woo, good point!
Are you pro or anti gay marriage, my Tronny hero?
I believe that the current state of marriage in the US is unconstitutional because it discriminates on the basis of gender. There is no justification for that limit, and the government grants too many rights and privileges to the spouses of married people for discrimination to be acceptable.
Those who claim that they're "defending marriage" are simply wrong. What are they defending it from? I can't think of anything.
