0736 - Tax the rich/Feed the poor...

...Till there are no/Rich no more.

That's what we've let ourselves in for, in the name of cutting and running from Iraq.

Why should I care? Because, by Democrat standards, I'm rich.

I suppose I should forget about that new car next year, and the airplane after that...

I'm hoping that the Senate doesn't fall over the ledge, too, but it's a forlorn hope.

God forbid anyone work hard to make a better life for themselves and their family...all in the name of some sleazy politician's ploy for votes.

So somehow not paying for what you buy, declaring the constitution "just a piece of paper", encouraging fear and hatred of anyone who happens to not be a straight white evangelical christian, imprisoning people indefinitely with no outside contact - even with a lawyer - for no stated crime at the whim of the executive, and then when this information comes to light they push to make it completely immune from judicial oversight... all these things, and the best excuse you can come up with for keeping the republicans in power is that they won't "cut and run" from a war based on false pretenses and now deep into territory that no amount of American intervention can stop, and a stupid rhyme?

Honestly, I expected better of you.

I'll just continue to sit here and hope this election won't lead to a 1974 repeat.

After all, 9 million people died due to the 1974 elections going the way they did.

The elections went badly in 1974, the party that didn't have the presidency won by a landslide, the party that took control de-funded the war. US pulls out of the country. Evil dictators in various countries nearby fill the power vacuum kills 9 million people in the vicinity. At least 3 million of those Cambodian. There were a couple million war refugees that were slaughtered, quite a few people slaughtered in a civil war, A good deal killed by the north vietnamese... I can't get concrete numbers on all of them, but I did get up to about 5 million from what I could find.
