Hey Jay, just started reading your livejournal (found it via your website). I've flown some, but don't have a pilot's license. What are the flying characteristics of your new plane like?

The Zodiac is a pleasure to fly - once you get the feel of it. Unlike most common trainers (the Cessna 150/152/172 and Piper Cherokees, for example), where you actually move the controls to fly the airplane, the Zodiac is flown by control pressures. You don't move the controls so much as push on them to get the airplane to go where you want it to. That took a lot of getting used to, but I've now put 34 hours on the airplane, and it feels natural to me.
