0139 - Those angry Obama supporters

While the media is full of stories about how McCain supporters are angrily spewing hatred, nobody in the MSM seems to be picking up this story about a real attack from the other side. I guess it would detract from their story about how the only folks who don't want to see the Obamessiah elected are right-wing racists full of unreasoning hatred.

(Aside: I managed to scare myself...I recognize the Staples at the bottom of the first page, at 51st and Lexington in Manhattan. I've been there enough times by now.)

"I suspect that if the roles were reversed and some angry Republican man had launched an unprovoked attack on a frail, bespectacled, Obama-supporting female the media would have had a field day, never letting this story off the front pages up until the election."

You can tell from the dinky lil mark that he wasn't really trying to harm her, and likely just got frustrated and caught up in the moment. He deserves charges, but I wouldn't really file him under woman beater quite yet.

But if the roles were reversed, it'd be insane. Instead of being perceived as an effeminate man in a slap fight, he'd be built up as a testosterone fueled marine who was trying to kill her.

It sure does look pathetic when we try to sensationalize the same kind of crap they do. We're just not the demographic who can lap all this tripe up. I understand why you want it to gain some speed, but I just can't see it benefiting us any.

Then again, perception is reality.

It does. It's just that the MSM only prints the stories about people attacking supporters of the Obamessiah. That's just another symptom of how thoroughly the MSM is in the tank for Obama.

You've seriously gone off the deep end

You're trying to prove a negative here, Jay.

The media must be in the tank for Obama, because there's no proof it's not!

I thought you were an engineer.

The media is in the tank for Obama because they don't run stories that criticize him, but run plenty that criticize McCain and Palin.

I'm a conputer consultant for a living.

Show me even 1 (one) video or transcript of Obama, or Biden, encouraging this kind of thinking or behavior among thier supporters. I challenge you.

The problem is not that people are going nutso. The problem is the mainstream media's trying to turn this into what it isn't: McCain supporters are a bunch of racist thugs, while Obama supporters are all angelic.

The problem is that there are a lot more racist thugs pulling for McCain/Palin. I'm honestly worried about one of them taking matters into their own hands should Obama win.

Sorry, I don't buy it. The MSM is working hard to create this impression, but we don't know the truth, and it's more than possible that there are just as many racists - including African-America racists - who are pulling for Obama. We'll never find out, though, because the MSM adamantly refuses to run stories that show Obama in a bad light.

And now, to quote foolscap001:

On Sunday, October 19th, the McCain/Palin bus (the "Straight Talk Express") arrived in Raton, New Mexico with its windshield shattered by a shot from a .22; it had also been hit repeatedly by paintballs.

Tell me again who's displaying insane rage?

Wrong. I'm not the one shooting at McCain's campaign bus.

Nobody is. You're coming unglued. Stop believing every crazy right wing blog you read. That story is complete made-up horseshit.

That story may be. Did you read the one below i, where one guy's Lexus was damaged because he dared to display a Nobama sticker?

I'm not going to get the truth from the MSM. I have to get it where I can find it. The MSM is so thoroughly in the tank for Obama tha they're not going to publish anything that makes him look bad. Period.

Try again. The media reported on that one. Three different local affiliates reported it.

Local affiliates. People saying bad things about Obama at McCain rallies are national news. Why isn't this? Because it makes Obama look bad, and so cannot be published.

Someone getting their car scratched isn't national news. Don't be an idiot.

Someone yelling "kill him!" at a Palin rally when Obama's name is mentioned... slightly more newsworthy. Especially when that kind of thing has been happening at a number of events.

Re: You've seriously gone off the deep end

Obama supporters damaging property of McCain supporters is just as much national news as someone mouthing off at a rally. The MSM is telling a one-sided story to make Obama supporters look like better people than McCain supporters, and thereby shame some folks into voting for Obama. This is obvious to everyone but left-wing moonbats.

A death threat is just "mouthing off"?

Wow, you have gone crazy. This sort of thing is why I don't like you anymore.

You're assuming the death threat is serious. If it was, the Secret Service would be all over the maker. They haven't been able to confirm it, despite considerable effort. That's why I don't take it seriously.

As for "having gone crazy", how would you feel after 8 years of relentless attacks from the Left?

I'm also not the one who packed up his virtual belongings and ran away in the middle of the night for absolutely no reason. I had given you no reason whatsoever to believe I'd do anything to go back on my promise to provide you unlimited, reliable web space, but you acted on some vague fears and disappeared without giving me the courtesy of telling me you were leaving. Keeping your web space alive and reliable was one reason (though not the only one) I'd spent a considerable sum of money over the years on commercial-class server hardware and tape backup. It's a good thing I had the latter, since it was the only way I could recover some of the pictures you so childishly deleted.

This shows that you truly do not understand why I left. I simply didn't want to be associated with you anymore.

That's your right. Where you crossed the line was in the way you left. Had you said "I'm not comfortable being on here any more", I'd have worked with you to make the transition as seamless as I could have. Instead, you just vanished one night, leaving my system holding the bag of a large number of unanswered and unanswerable HTTP queries.

Adults give each other the courtesy of a goodbye.

Ahh.... Every single one where Palin accuses him of 'paling around with terrorists', being un-American, going "Who is the 'real' Barack Obama', like he's some kind of Manchurian candidate, etc. etc.*

*Per our previous discussion, I know that you really want him to be one, but please don't bother staring all that up again, because as we discussed before, that is a completely different proposition from him being, or you seriously believing, that he really is one.
