1352 - Bye bye, Ozy and Millie

D. C. Simpson's Ozy and Millie comic has been slamming the Iraq war in a thinly veiled manner for the past week. This comes after Simpson posted a message to the Ozy and Millie list saying how he didn't intend to comment, and if he did, he'd only say something in sorrow about the people who would be killed.

Enough is enough. This is just a typical leftist screed, drawn and posted after Simpson said he wouldn't. Further, he's already said he wouldn't accept any discussion of the issue on the mailing list.

I just deleted the bookmark from my folder. No more.

I really liked the "Society Explained" strip about a week ago...
("in the few last seconds you have most likely given it more thought than your tormentor ever will" - "so you say people with no brains make rules?" - "adults call it democracy, son")

I guess you have made your decision and that's cool. I think the comic has some real gems from time to time, and you'll be missing out on them. and the WMD is just a storyline that you don't like and it's likely to be done with real soon (and I feel like you on this, I'm sick myself of the "WMD not found" jokes).

for myself, I'm addicted to O&M and I wouldn't leave it if Rain sold his soul to satan.

What irritated me was not Simpson's leftism - I've known he's a flaming left-winger for a long time - but that he pulled Iraq into the strip after saying he wouldn't, and banning any discussion of the subject from the mailing list.

To me, anything that's in the strip is fair game for discussion. Simpson disagrees; that's why I left the list, and why I won't read his strip any more either.

Yes, I enjoy a lot of his work. The problem is that he's now pissed me off to the point that it outweighs the enjoyment.
