2256 - Okkay, the Sox won.

Now, there's only one team more frustrated than the Astros: the Cubs. The way these things work, that'll get fixed next year, and the Cubs will beat the Astros in the NLCS to advance.

It's worth pointing out that the White Sox have not won a World Series since 1917, and have only been in two Series since then, the infamous 1919 Black Sox series, and the Go-Go Sox of 1959. In point of fact, other than the Hitless Wonders of 1906, those are the only 3 Series they have been in.

Imagine being a Chicago baseball fan, with two teams, but only one World Series each between them in the last sixty-five years.

Houston has gone the second-longest in the NL without a World Series bid, though, including the Brewers. Montreal/Washington is 3rd. The Texas Rangers (ne Washington Senators II) have gone longer than the Astros, with no Series appearence since their creation in 1961. Texas has bombed out of all three post-season appearences, with only one win and no pennants to show for it.

So I suppose that means our Rangers here are more overdue than the Astros. It's always felt that way, but it's good to know for sure.
