Computers

Boo hiss, Canon.

The scanner driver recently released for my N656U scanner under Mac OS X is Photoshop-only. Bleagh. The immediate task I needed it for was to scan 100 pages or so and turn them into a PDF. Acrobat's scanner support requires a TWAIN driver, not a Photoshop plugin. Their other scanners have TWAIN drivers for OS X; why not this series?

I was about to go out and buy another scanner until I found that Hamrick Software's VueScan would do the job. It was only $40, too. (Grumble: I had already registered VuePrint, explicitly so I'd get a license for VueScan, but Hamrick went back on his promise that one fee would register you forever.)
