The next costume

I've settled on the next costume to do. This one will be a bit simpler than the TRON costume, thankfully. I've talked with the character's creator, and he's happy about it as well...his first reply started with "Jay Maynard, the guy famously infamous for the TRON costume, is emailing me. About a costume. Oh my." He's even thinking about printing business cards for me to hand out.

No, I'm not going to say what it is, until I unveil it. That will probably happen at Linucon.

More Michael Moore dishonesty

The trailer for Michael Moore's Bush-bashing film Fahrenheit 9/11 shows him, in his distinctive style, ambushing several Congressmen to ask them, "Congressman, I'm trying to get members of Congress to get their kids to enlist in the Army to go over to Iraq." One of them is Representative Mark Kennedy (R-MN).

According to this story in the St. Paul Pioneer-Press, though, Representative Kennedy is not pleased with the trailer - because it cut his answer: "that he has two nephews — one in Afghanistan, one in Iraq — that are proud to serve", according to his spokeswoman. She later clarified that only one is technically a nephew. (The other is a cousin's son, awaiting deployment.) Any way you slice it, though, Kennedy has relatives in the military, and may soon have more: his college-age son is considering entering the service.

Of course, this would contradict Moore's message, and so he cut it.

"Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them"? Moore isn't in that book, as he's one of Al Franken's left-wing buddies, but he should be.
