Am I the prototypical "funny dressed geek"?

Canadian inventor Troy Hurtubise has created a lightweight suit of armor intended to protect soldiers from many different kinds of weapons, while being mass-producible and relatively inexpensive. This has gotten a fair amount of coverage around the web.

What's interesting is that at least two bloggers have commented on the invention by comparing it to my costume.

I can only guess that this is because I've become a symbol for all sorts of unusual outfits worn by folks outside of a movie studio...
