2021 - Whew...long trip.

We just got back about an hour and a half ago from visiting my parents. They're about to start doing the travel-around-the-country bit in their nice big motorhome, as soon as Mom retires next March. They decided they need a bit more central base of operations than Houston, so they bought a lot in a luxury RV park on Table Rock Lake a little bit south of Blue Eye, Arkansas, near Branson, Missouri. We drove down there to visit my parents and aunt, and my sister and her husband drove up from Houston as well.

The drive was 640 miles each way, and with the driving around the area we did, I put 1389.6 miles on the car in the past 4 days. Needless to say, I'm tired.

We had dinner at the hotel where we were staying. it was a nice Thanksgiving buffet. We went to see the Rockettes Thursday night in Branson. That was a fun show, though the Christian message at the end was quite heavy-handed, even if it was a tradition for them. Branson is a little town of about 6,000 residents, and the strip has more lights on it than Las Vegas, I believe. The traffic is nothing to sneeze at, either, since essentially all of the playhouses are located on one two-lane road (Missouri 76). There are three alternate routes, but few people actually use them, and you have to get on 76 at some point anyway.

Aside from that, we spent the two days we weren't traveling relaxing, watching TV, and visiting with the folks. It was a good holiday. Now, I need to recover...
