My new company has a biweekly conference call to make sure everyone's caught up on what's happening. Tonight was my second one.
About 5 minutes before the call's start time, I got a phone call from the guy who runs the company. He's got sick kids, and they gave him the cold.
So he had me run the call. Needless to say, I was surprised. He gave me the agenda, and I did it. No sweat.
It was a nice vote of confidence...especially welcome since I've been waiting for a couple of assignments to happen so I could get out there and actually earn money. I've been assured that one is definitely going to happen; everyone's agreed on it, and they're just waiting for the purchase order to get issued. Still, I've been feeling like I'm not earning my keep yet.
