|0636 - Someone put a finger on the result of poor parenting|
Dr. David Walsh of the National Institute on Media and the Family in Minneapolis hung a name on it: DDD, discipline deficit disorder. The STrib's Katherine Kersten tells us all about it in today's column.

See? See? And my more liberal friends look at me like I am a Neanderthal because I think a few swats on the butt now and then never did a kid any harm (after trying NO, and time out, that is).
That is one of my favorite webcomics...mostly because I can identify with a *LOT* of the strips (especially having been raised Catholic)
Hell yes. I'm glad that someone of authority finally pointed this out. People that I talk to appreciate the fact that the problems of kids today were the lack of parental "no"s, but you'd be hard pressed to find something in the media to support that.
Next step: make parents responsible if their kids does something wrong and they do nothing to prevent/curtail it.
There are some municipalities that will do this in extreme truancy cases. I think it might not be a bad idea!
This is the largest captain obvious moment Ive seen in a while...
Good grief. He had to come up with a 'name' for that? The common name is "parents who can't control their kids", AKA "bad parents". :/
Ah, but if it's got a name, it must be a real, treatable disorder which society must FIx Right Now!...
All those kids need is a little percussive therapy. ;-)
