|1916 - Two milestones achieved|
Over the three years or so I was working as an independent consultant, I racked up a substantial amount of debt, mostly on credit cards. Monday, I'll mail in the payment that pays off the last balance of the card that had the most on it. There is still more to go, but at interest rates that aren't as crippling.
That's one milestone. The second: I did my taxes this evening, and am getting a nice refund from both the feds and the state of Minnesota. I haven't had one of those since I went independent, either. That'll go toward paying down debt, too, and it'll cut a big chunk out of one card.

People will actually use money that's faker than "real" money.
Today my three cards are going into the freezer and I will live on a cash-only basis, except for my rent cheque.
This better work.
Dammit, there should be a g in there someplace.
My wife and I are paying down debt too. We just paid off three credit cards a few weeks ago. It definitely feels good.
My day-job boss said, "Robert, that's huge!" So, congratulations!
