Today was the last day of this year's Minnesota Renaissance Festival. Paul and I went (as well as yesterday), and had a great time. Vilification Tennis today (being their "Let's Try to Get Fired" show) was their best yet, a full 45 minutes of the vilest, crudest, most hilarious insults they could come up with, and the rest of the faire was letting it all hang out as well.
The controversy over the legality of Hercules has boiled over once again. One guy in particular, a computer industry analyst from Europe, who was banned from the hercules-390 discussion list, has once again been spreading hate, discontent, and FUD on the list, aided and abetted by a couple of well-meaning folks who objected to his banning because they object to censorship in any form. They have succeeded in making my participation in the Hercules project un-fun again, at least for a while. Dammit. I don't know what to do, because I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't: my choice is between getting complaints about censorship and watching the list dissolve in flamage, as it has done several times in the past when the loudmouth got wound up.
