|1117 - The First Amendment in an Obama world II|
Even the Red Star-Tribune can't suppress this one:
An Augsburg College student and Sarah Palin supporter from Alaska was beaten on election night while walking to her dorm and was called a racist by a group of four young women because she had on a McCain/Palin presidential campaign button, authorities and the victim said.

In the Philly case, I think he should have been allowed to walk into the crowd, and a cop should have walked along with him to tell people "This idiot is trying to prove a point by getting beaten up so piss him off more by ignoring him."
although frankly to me it looks like he was going out there *looking* to get beat up so he could then scream racism or intolerance or something
If that was the case, and he was beaten up, wouldn't that in fact indicate...intolerance? Is the crowd that beats him up somehow more tolerant because they beat him up only because he was out there looking to get beat up to make a political point?
Do you think he *should* have been allowed to go into the crowd and possibly get the crap beaten out of him?
Yes, and then the police should have arrested the felons and prosecuted them to the fullest extent of the law. Cops don't get to arrest people in order to protect them. I can't even imagine how loudly you'd be screaming if the cops arrested a young girl in a miniskirt to prevent her from attending a frat party, or arresting a black person for daring to walk into a white enclave, or a homosexual before he steps foot on the grounds of Liberty University. Did you really just make this argument?
Are you aware of any side of any issue on which there are no dumbshits?
Are humans involved?
Did this one carve a backwards B into her own face too?
I don't know about that, but I do know that my boyfriend was harrassed at the supermarket by a McCain/Palin supporter yesterday.
I'm surrounded by a bunch of Aggies, so I can't expect much in the way of intelligent behavior.
Do you really believe this crap?
Seriously, its getting harder and harder to take you seriously.
Maybe I should buy you some tinfoil for christmas.
