1944 - Leftist hypocrisy

I signed off the Ozy and Millie mailing list today, after the strip's creator said that he might comment on the Iraq crisis in his strip, but demanded that nobody reply to his views if he does. I view the mailing list as an extension of the strip, and if it's in the strip, it's fair game for comment on the mailing list. Obviously, Simpson disagrees.

Simpson's reply to my message can be seen in this message to the list, archived at Yahoo! Groups. How petty.

I wonder if I'll enjoy the strip any more. When it's not being overtly leftist, I find it funny and reflective of my life as an unpopular kid in school. It's one of three I check daily. Now, I'm not so sure.

I don't see what difference this is from a IRC channel or a list. The owner can set the rules and if you don't like it, leave. What you think it should be is irrelevant unless you are the owner.

You left, so there you go.

I'm unhappy because I think I was misled into believing that the list was for discussion, not one-sided politics. Had I known then what I know now, I wouldn't have joined the list in the first place.
